Our High Power COB LED Strip is built for projects where maximum brightness and flawless uniformity matter most — a genuine step up in output from the rest of our range, and a strong choice wherever a strip needs to work as a primary light source, not just an accent.
Why Choose our High Power COB LED Strip?
Using Chip-on-Board (COB) technology, this High Power COB LED Strip delivers the same seamless, dot-free glow as the rest of our ranges, with a significant boost in output — ideal for primary room lighting in large spaces, high-intensity task lighting in kitchens, and demanding commercial or hospitality installations.
Specification
See the table for exact figures — here's what they mean for your project. A density of 528 LEDs per metre and 14W per metre output make this High Power COB LED Strip one of the brightest in our range, well suited to primary lighting rather than subtle accents. Supplied on a 10mm PCB — pair it with a profile rated for this width, as detailed below. Rated IP20, it's built for indoor, dry areas only — if your project needs an external or bathroom-rated strip, we offer IP67 options — please contact us for details. Compatible with our opal diffuser LED profiles, which soften and evenly spread the light, with a small, expected reduction in output as a result.
High Power COB LED Strip Colour Temperatures
Every High Power COB LED Strip is available in three colour temperatures, so you can match brightness with the right tone for the space:
- 3000K (Warm White) — powerful light with a rich, inviting warmth, suited to high ceilings or warm ambient washing.
- 4000K (Natural White) — neutral illumination with true-to-life colour, ideal for kitchens and workstations.
- 6000K (Cool White) — peak clarity and a high-energy look for large utility spaces, workshops, or high-bay applications.
Pair with a Compatible LED Profile
This High Power COB LED Strip's 10mm PCB fits a range of our LED profiles. Browse our LED Profiles — or if you're not sure which type suits your project, check out our guide to choosing the right LED profile.
Match with a 24V LED Driver
- Looking for a compatible 24V LED Driver? We have a range of Dimmable/Non-Dimmable and IP20 or IP67 rated drivers — browse LED Drivers
- Not sure what size driver you need? See how to calculate the right driver size for your total run length
How to Control Your High Power COB LED Strip
High Power LED strips can be switched using an LED-compatible wall switch rated for the driver's load. For additional control — dimming or scheduling — pair with one of our controllers: choose our WiFi LED Controller for direct phone control, or our Zigbee LED Controller for a mesh-based smart home system compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa. We also offer a range of wireless wall controls and remotes — contact us to find out more.
Joining and Extending Runs
Need to join two lengths or turn a corner? Our solderless COB connectors are available in a range of styles — including strip-to-strip and 90-degree corner connectors — browse our connector range for a clean join with no soldering required.

Frequently asked questions
Can this strip be dimmed?
Yes, when paired with a compatible dimmable driver and either a wall dimmer switch rated for LED loads or one of our controllers.
Can I cut this strip to a custom length?
The High Power range has fixed cut points every 45mm — for cut-anywhere flexibility at the same output, see our Free Cut Premium Pro range instead.
What's the difference between this and your Free Cut Premium Pro?
Both share the same 528 LEDs per metre density and 14W per metre output — the difference is cutting flexibility. High Power has fixed cut points; Free Cut Premium Pro can be trimmed at any point along its length.
What's the difference between this and your Essentials range?
High Power offers significantly higher density (528 LEDs per metre against Essentials' 320) and higher output (14W/m against 9W/m) — Essentials suits general accent lighting, High Power suits primary lighting and demanding installations.
Do I need to worry about voltage drop on long runs?
As a general guide, we recommend a maximum single run of 10m before voltage drop becomes noticeable — beyond this, the far end of the run can appear dimmer than the end nearest the driver. For runs longer than 10m, power the strip from both ends or use a mid-point power injection connection. Get in touch and we'll help make sure your specific setup is powered correctly.
Key Features & Technical Benefits
Extreme High Density (528 LEDs/m) delivers a flawless, ultra-smooth, and completely "dot-free" line of light, eliminating all visibility of chips, even on reflective surfaces.
High Wattage (14W/m) provides an intense, high-lumen output suitable for primary illumination, replacing the need for multiple light fixtures.
Features a wider 10mm Printed Circuit Board (PCB) for optimal heat transfer, ensuring stable operation and superior durability under high load.
Designed for superior thermal management and efficiency at 24V, guaranteeing a robust, long-term 50,000-hour lifespan even under continuous high output.
Suggested Applications:
Primary Room Illumination:
Powerful enough to serve as the main lighting source in living areas, kitchens, or commercial offices.
Intense Task Lighting:
Provides brilliant, shadow-free light for demanding workspaces like workshops, garages, and large kitchen islands.
Large Architectural Spaces:
Ideal for illuminating high ceilings, expansive coves, or large retail areas where high light levels are necessary.
High-Visibility Installations:
Perfect for projects where light quality and output must be demonstrably superior.
Installation & Notes
❗ Crucial Installation & Warranty Notes (Must Read)
Due to the extreme density and high power (14W/m) of this strip, proper installation is absolutely essential to protect your investment and validate the 5-Year Ultimate LED’s Warranty. Failure to adhere to these specifications will void the warranty:
- LED Driver (Power Supply): An appropriate 24V DC LED driver is mandatory. The driver must be a high-quality, regulated power supply certified for LED use. Your warranty is contingent on the driver providing stable, consistent 24V DC output and the driver’s wattage correctly matching or exceeding the total strip load.
- Aluminum LED Profile (Heatsink): Installation in a suitable aluminum profile is mandatory. The profile must be wide enough to accommodate the 10mm PCB and provide robust heat dissipation to protect the high-density COB chips from thermal damage. Damage resulting from thermal runaway due to non-use or inadequate heatsinking will not be covered.
Compatibility & Recommended Accessories
To complete your high-power installation, we recommend the following compatible products:
- 24V LED Drivers: (Link to 24V Drivers category—ensure you calculate total wattage and select a high-quality unit)
