Our Pro COB LED Strip is a genuine step up in density from our Essentials range — 480 LEDs per metre against Essentials' 320, for a smoother, more uniform glow, at the same reliable 9W per metre output.

Why Choose our Pro COB LED Strip?

Using Chip-on-Board (COB) technology, this Pro COB LED Strip delivers a completely seamless, dot-free line of light — the higher LED density means more even coverage than our Essentials range, without stepping up to the higher wattage of our Free Cut Premium Pro or High Power tiers. It's the strip we'd recommend when you want a noticeably smoother finish than Essentials, but don't need maximum output.

Specification

See the table for exact figures — here's what they mean for your project. A density of 480 LEDs per metre gives a smoother, more uniform glow than our Essentials range, while the 9W per metre output at 24V keeps it suited to accent and general lighting rather than primary illumination. Supplied on an 8mm PCB. Rated IP20, it's built for indoor, dry areas only — if your project needs an external or bathroom-rated strip, we offer IP67 options — please contact us for details. Compatible with opal diffuser profiles, which soften and evenly spread the light, with a small, expected reduction in output as a result.

Pro Colour Temperatures

Every Pro COB LED Strip is available in three colour temperatures, so you can match the tone to the space:

  • 3000K (Warm White) — a calming warm tone suited to boutique retail, hospitality, and high-end residential living areas.
  • 4000K (Natural White) — a neutral, clean white suited to offices, gallery lighting, and architectural clarity.
  • 6000K (Cool White) — a crisp daylight tone for commercial display lighting and areas needing maximum visual contrast.

Pair with a Compatible LED Profile

This Pro COB LED Strip's PCB fits a range of our LED profiles. Browse our LED Profiles — or if you're not sure which type suits your project, check out our guide to choosing the right LED profile.

How to Control Your Pro COB LED Strip

Pro COB LED strips can be switched using an LED-compatible wall switch rated for the driver's load. For additional control — dimming, or scheduling — pair with one of our controllers: choose our WiFi LED Controller for direct phone control, or our Zigbee LED Controller for a mesh-based smart home system compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa. We also offer a range of wireless wall controls and remotes — contact us to find out more.

Joining and Extending Runs

Need to join two lengths or turn a corner? Our solderless COB connectors are available in a range of styles — including strip-to-strip, strip-to-wire and 90-degree corner connectors — browse our connector range for a clean join with no soldering required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this strip be dimmed?
Yes, when paired with a compatible dimmable driver and either a wall dimmer switch rated for LED loads or one of our controllers.

Can I cut this strip to a custom length?
Pro has fixed cut points every 50mm — for cut-anywhere flexibility at the same wattage, see our Free Cut range instead.

What's the difference between this and your Free Cut range?
Both run at the same 9W per metre on an 8mm PCB — the difference is density (480 LEDs/m on Pro against 528 on Free Cut) and cutting flexibility, where Free Cut can be trimmed anywhere along its length.

What's the difference between this and your Essentials range?
Pro steps up density to 480 LEDs per metre against Essentials' 320, for a smoother, more uniform glow at the same 9W output.

Do I need to worry about voltage drop on long runs?
As a general guide, we recommend a maximum single run of 10m before voltage drop becomes noticeable — beyond this, the far end of the run can appear dimmer than the end nearest the driver. For runs longer than 10m, power the strip from both ends or use a mid-point power injection connection. Get in touch and we'll help make sure your specific setup is powered correctly.

Key Features & Technical Benefits

Ultimate Density

480 LEDs/m delivers superior brightness and eliminates any possibility of visible hotspots, even in the shallowest profiles.

Flawlessly Seamless Light

Professional-grade Chip on Board (COB) Technology ensures an impeccable, continuous, and dot-free aesthetic required for high-end applications

Professional Light Quality

High CRI (>90) ensures vivid, true-to-life colors, essential for retail displays, art features, and premium interior design projects.

Enhanced Performance

The extreme density contributes to better internal heat management, guaranteeing the full, reliable 50,000-hour lifespan of the LED strip.

Suggested Applications:

Main Room Illumination

Powerful enough to serve as the primary lighting source in residential or commercial settings.

Installation & Notes

Crucial Installation & Warranty Notes (Must Read)

To ensure the long-term performance of your high-density strip and to validate the 5-Year Ultimate LED’s Warranty, two additional components are mandatory. Failure to adhere to these specifications will void the warranty:

  1. LED Driver (Power Supply): An appropriate 24V DC LED driver is essential. The driver must be a quality, regulated power supply certified for LED use. Your warranty is contingent on the driver providing stable, consistent 24V DC output and the driver’s wattage correctly matching or exceeding the total strip load.
  2. Aluminum LED Profile (Heatsink): Installation in a suitable aluminum profile is strongly recommended. The profile must provide adequate heat dissipation to protect the high-density COB chips from overheating. Damage resulting from thermal runaway due to non-use or inadequate heatsinking will not be covered.
